Our New Dog Door and Fenced Area

We finally got the new sliding door and dog door insert installed and my hubby redirected the fencing area and made a new gate! It kinda looks like the OK Corral or something. So we've been calling it the TraMar Puppy Corral. LOL The dogs like it!

This slider goes into my office, where I run my web design/hosting company and my online Christian women's ministry. That's Rosie looking out the door.

Here's Bear and Charlie - checking out their new yard. I will be putting insect repellent plants in containers outside the fence-line to help control flea, ticks and mosquitos. Having the dogs on conrete/rocks/blocks will also help with insect-control, as well as keep the dogs cleaner. ;-)

Next on the dog area improvement list: installing our own dog septic system!

I found directions off the web to make our own. You take a large, round trash can, cut the bottom out and drill holes in the sides. Dig a hole large enough around for the trash can, and a little bit deeper than the can is tall. Fill the bottom of the hole with gravel/rocks and place the trash can in, leaving the handles/lid above ground. Put some dog stool in, add some septic system starter enzymes and water and let nature do the rest. About once or twice a month you need to add more enzymes to help digest the stool. That's it! Very easy and total cost - less than $20. A Doggy Dooley was going to cost me about $80!! And that would only handle 4 small dogs.

We've got the supplies to do this, just waiting on hubby to make the time to install it. ;-)
